About One Nation Under God

Voting Our Values

We must build a Congress that shares our values. How do we do this? By electing those who want the same things we do. We do this first, by obtaining a thorough understanding of the principles of Catholic moral and social teaching, second, by educating every Catholic Member of Congress through our persistent lobbying and advocacy efforts and last, by holding our elected officials accountable. As Catholics we must allow the moral principles of our Catholic faith to inform our decisions and positions and support public policies that reflect a profound respect for human life and dignity.

Catholics make up 30 percent of those who vote in national elections. These 30 million Catholics have the power to make our country a better nation, more welcoming to life, more supportive of families, and more effective in its programs to help the poor and marginalized.

Both from the Vatican and within the United States, our Vicars and Bishops have been calling Catholics to renew their participation in political life. That participation means, above all, to take the moral principles of the Catholic Faith in to the voting booth.

It is our purpose to provide the background information necessary to make informed decisions when choosing candidates who best reflects our Catholic values. In addition to providing information to assist in elections OneNationUnderGod will focus on public policy issues encompassed in protecting the sanctity of life, preserving the sacrament of marriage, and maintaining the Godly heritage in which our nation was founded, assuring that it always remain ONE NATION UNDER GOD.
