  • SB1550 Abortion Reporting
    Requires abortion clinics to file a report with the Department of Health Services when abortions are performed. The form includes basic information such as the type of abortion, number of gestational weeks, etc.  SUPPORT
  • S.B. 1385 HPV Vaccination Would allocate $2.6 million from the 2007-2008 state general fund to pay for the HPV vaccine for women 21 to 26 years of age. Also reports a federal funding match of $5.6 million. 
  • S.B. 1437 Would appropriate $200,000 for outreach and education on numerous vaccines, including the HPV vaccine.
  • S.B. 1502 Would require insurance providers to cover the cost of the HPV vaccine.

    Gives judges guidance when considering bypass petitions for minors to get an abortion. This bill passed the House of Representatives on March 8, 2007, by a vote of 34-21 with 5 members absent. The bill now goes to the Senate. View text

    Requires a pharmacist to fill, or refer to someone who will fill, all prescriptions regardless of whether it violates the pharmacist's conscience.

  • HB2358 SB1468 Hate Crimes
    Allows judges to rule misdemeanors such as graffiti as a hate crime and therefore may be subject to a harsher punishment. In addition the judge must make public in their ruling that the misdemeanor was a hate crime. The hate crime statute in Arizona includes sexual orientation and gender identity.

  • HB2734 Electronic Identity Registration for Sex Offenders Adds electronic identification, including e-mail addresses and chat room names, to the list of information that sex offenders must report. This bill passed the House 59-0 on February 26, 2007. It has been assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
